Opinions on "The Happening"? :-)
Wow, no one's posted here in a long time! :-)
Let's get the community going again! :-)
What did you guys think of Shyamalan's "The Happening"? :-)
I liked it, although I still think "The Village" and "Lady in the Water" are his best movies :-)

I've actually heard that that happening is a projection problem, not a filming problem. Apparently with many movies that is actually still there, but you not seeing it is the job of the projectionist. So don't worry, it's not M. Night, it's just your local theatre. ;) I didn't see any mikes the whole film.

Overall, I would sadly have to admit it's my least favorite of all his films, but I think it's still a good movie. As much as there was that was questionable about the plot and the acting (the two main criticisms of the movie) M. Night's signature stylism was amazing, and the soundtrack was gorgeous. On a fair and critical plane, I gave it a 'C', but on a how-much-I-loved-it-plane, it's still in my Top 50. X)

Okay, like, the idea was... interesting. I read an analysis or two before seeing it in the theater a couple months ago so that helped push my understanding further.

From what I remember, my favorite part was when they were in the field after splitting up the groups, and that wind started blowing. Our main group is hearing the gunshots over and over in the distance. They know what's happening, but can't do much to stop it. Nice effect.

It's certainly not my favorite movie of his, but it's not horrible. The first half was rather bleh, could've been done better. It was the second half that saved the movie for me.
